There are six Marine Expert Networks based on the major Focal Ecosystem Components (FECs). These groups are in the process of:
- implementing the Arctic Marine Biodiversity Monitoring Plan
- further identifying priority knowledge gaps
- identifying existing datasets for aggregation
- further refining the suite of biological indicators used to report on the state and function of marine ecosystems
- meeting annually to review program implementation
- producing regular reports and publications
- reviewing and adjusting the monitoring approach
