There are six Marine Expert Networks based on the major Focal Ecosystem Components (FECs). These groups are in the process of:

  • adopting and implementing the Arctic Marine Biodiversity Monitoring Plan
  • further identifying priority knowledge gaps
  • identifying existing datasets for aggregation
  • further refining the suite of biological indicators used to report on the state and function of marine ecosystems
  • meeting annually to review program implementation
  • producing regular reports and publications
  • reviewing and adjusting the monitoring approach
