Note: in addition to the listed biological parameters, it is critical that temperature, salinity, in situ fluorescence, and macronutrients (NO3, Si, PO4) be measured in conjunction with the biological parameters in order to derive accurate interpretations of the data. Also, sea-ice cover data, using both remotely sensed information and local observations, are needed and should be correlated with the biological data.
