Arctic Biodiversity Through the Lens photography competition opens for entries
2026-11-01
CAFF is inviting photographers from around the world to capture the wildlife, landscapes and Peoples of the Arctic through the Arctic Biodiversity Through the Lens photography competition.
The competition is organized by CAFF, the biodiversity working group of the Arctic Council, together with the Kingdom of Denmark Chairship of the Arctic Council 2025–2027, in connection with the Arctic Biodiversity Summit in Nuuk, Greenland, in March 2027.
Arctic Biodiversity Through the Lens celebrates the biodiversity, landscapes and Peoples of the Arctic while raising awareness of Arctic biodiversity and the challenges it faces.
Photographers worldwide are invited to submit photographs taken within the Arctic, as defined by the CAFF boundary, in three categories:
- Arctic Biodiversity – migratory or resident species and the ecosystems they depend on.
- Landscapes in the Arctic – Arctic habitats, seascapes, scenery and natural processes.
- Peoples of the North – daily life, culture and communities of the Arctic.
Young photographers are also eligible for the Youth Photographer prize. Participants may submit up to seven images per category, and entry is free.
