Invasive Species Workshop

CONTEXT: The project plan for the invasive species initiative was approved at the CAFF Board meeting in Tromsø, September 2015.

PROJECT GOAL:  Prevent the introduction of invasive species in Arctic marine, coastal, freshwater, and terrestrial ecosystems, and through establishing a baseline, improve management of on-going invasions using risk-based assessment and management approaches.  The goal is to develop an invasive species strategy for delivery to the 2017 Arctic Council Ministerial. This will include recommendations for management actions, which might be addressed in subsequent phases of this initiative. Proposed actions/recommendations will be submitted to the CAFF Board for negotiation and approval.
